There are many applications you might want to have ready when you visit Korea. Here are a few that I recommend. When you search for “apps for Korea travel” on Google, you’ll find many helpful lists and guides. Rather than going through each one, I’d like to recommend a few apps that I have personally used and found to be reliable.
Maps
People often recommend Naver Map, Kakao Map, and Google Map for navigating in Korea. I suggest having Google Map and trying both Naver Map and Kakao Map to see which interface you find more comfortable. Any mobile application can crash for various reasons, so it’s always good to have backups. Additionally, always have backup plans for restaurants and follow google reviews. You better understand what’s surrounded as well.

Translator application
Papago Translator is an excellent choice for navigating language barriers. It’s very handy as it can read menus, translate text, and even read your translated text aloud. I used Papago while traveling in Japan, and it made my life so much easier. I often use Papago to communicate with my clients overseas as well. While it may not be perfect, it effectively conveys the meaning I intend. Use this primary and for the back-ups, prepare google translator.

Others
It is recommended to have both the Uber and KakaoTaxi applications ready. Uber taxis are not as widely available as Kakao taxis, and nowadays, it can be really difficult to catch a taxi on the street. My another recommendations to be ready are subway application, visit and get information from website – Visit Seoul if you are going to visit Seoul.
